La Mer giveaway worth R7500 – pamper yourself or Mom!

I have always been a big believer in investing in oneself – whether we talk education, health, anti-aging, etc. So, when the kind people at contacted me and sent me some gorgeous products to help keep the onslaught of time at bay, I was sincerely grateful on a few accounts. Firstly, because the products are supremely beneficial and do wonders for my skin. Secondly, because they are also very, very luxurious with a price tag which reflects that. So, when they offered to give one of my Modern Mommy readers a hamper worth R7500, I practically did back-flips 😉 So, just some info about this iconic journey of La Mer’s development:

This story begins with an accident and ends with a miracle … this was the intro line from their website and could also aptly describe how some moms become moms 😉
Half a century ago, aerospace physicist Dr. Max Huber suffered burns in a laboratory accident. Neither medicine nor science offered the benefits Huber desperately sought, and he began a personal quest to transform his skin. After 12 years and 6,000 experiments, Dr. Huber perfected the art of bio-fermentation. Something extraordinary was discovered – Crème de la Mer and it’s nutrient-rich Miracle Broth™. Just as Dr. Huber hoped, skin appeared dramatically smoother and miraculously improved .

To this day, Crème de la Mer is still created using sea kelp, vitamins, minerals, essential oils and other natural ingredients that are fermented for three to four months.

So, all you have to do is share why you are keen to try the product below and we’ll select a winner and make sure this reaches you ASAP!

Thanks, La Mer!

Love and Light,

    Hi Modern Mommy 🙂

I have been following the wonders of La Mer for years and always dreamt of trying it one day.

I have an uneven tone skin and dark under circles which makes me so self conscious that I cannot leave the house without foundation and concealer.

Nothing would excite me more to try out this luxurious product,

    Kind regards

    Hi JO

I started a good skincare regime as a young adult but after having kids I couldn’t afford good products anymore. I still have my daily routine but would love to replace it with some luxury product like La Mer. This would be such a spoil for my skin. My skin is in need of a La Mer transformation!

    Hi
For years ever since high school I have been suffering with acne. My acne is under control now after extensive use of medication, but I am still left with the scaring. I would love to be able to buy any skincare product that could help me just to put some life back into my skin, as I cannot even think of walking around without concealer, but my scaring is so bad that not even concealer conceals it properly.
I would so love to be considered for these amazing products as currently my skincare ritual consists out of Dettol body soap for face wash and absolutely no moisturizer just straight on concealer as i merely cannot afford to buy any decent products.

Turning 40 has been a big eye opener. From using regular off the shelf shop cheapies i now realise that the youthful appearance is fading fast and furiously. One should invest in a good skin product if you want to hang on to the collagen and “no fine lines” A mom of two i do endure quite a bit of stress as teenagers are not a walk in the park. I see the effects of the air, sun and stress on my face and turning 43 this year i really need to up my game. Getting a chance to win this phenomenal product is like a double mothers day gift wrapped in a silk pillow case (lol also on my much needed list) Thank you Modern Mommy for affording us all the opportunity to enter! Best of luck to every one 🙂

    Hi Modern Mommy

I’ve heard of and read about La Mer and it’s always been one of those beauty products that just don’t make the budget. I may have been born with large pores because I don’t remember a time my face didn’t have fine ‘holes’ in it. After high school I started suffering with acne and although medicine has removed it, I would still just reeeaaaaally like to pamper my face with a luxurious product that I would never otherwise spoil myself with.

Dear Jo-ann and people of La Mer,
This would be a gift from above! My current job requires of me to spend a lot of time auditing landfill sites in Cape Town, as a result I’m exposed to all kinds of environmental nuisances on a weekly basis. Also stress from part time studies has taken it’s toll on my skin. I’m grateful for all my priviledges. This product will put a glow on my face and warm my heart as I’m nearing my 40th birthday! As Jo-ann mentioned – with all its natural ingredients… “Help keep the onslaught of time at bay”, Thank you! 💕

La Mer is synonymous with youthful, radiant & healthy skin. I am hoping to be given this opportunity to try this remarkable product so I can pass down my beauty regime to my daughter in the future. As mothers it is important to teach beauty rituals & overall physical wellbeing to our daughters.

    Hi JoAnn

I’ve always had problematic skin since high school. I have always been envious of those girls with smooth, blemish-free skin. My bad acne-prone skin led me to having low self confidence and not feeling “pretty”. I’ve tried so many products over the years in my quest for clearer skin, that it’s taken its toll. Eventually, as I’ve grown older, my skin has somewhat improved, along with my self-confidence and acceptance of self. Since giving birth to my beautiful little boy (who is 13 months now), my skin looks dull because of the lack of sleep. I would really love the opportunity to experience the power of La Mer to give my skin a revitalizing boost it needs, and reverse some of the damage done by harmful products over the years.

Years ago, I read the story of La Mer and it deeply touched my heart. Created the desire to experience this Miracle broth. A dream that I always hope, I will one day make true. I will from time to time go in to Stuttaford and walk pass the La Mer counter …dreaming of the day I will be able to feel the sensation of a touch of La Mer… Yes it sounds like a love story because it is …I have fallen in love … with the story. With the product. I read every article or advertisement of La Mer. Because ONEDAY I will know the sheer beauty and luxery of La Mer. Today, after a hard financial setback, when I do my beauty regime – clean my face and put on sunscreen – I imagine it to be La Mer. Im hopeful for the chance that Oneday could be nearer, than I, ever could dream or imagine … Thank you that chance and opportunity.

I would love to try this product I have blemishes and hormonal pimples that I am not able to get rid of at age 37. I always admire your beautiful skin and have to share that I have introduced my 11year old to toothpaste for her teenage pimples as I often read you mentioning it.

This sounds so amazing! Lately, I think of myself as the character that Jennifer Anniston played in the movie – Friends with Money. She used to get samples of the beauty products at the stores & used to clean houses for a living – and used the home owners’ skin care products…. Well, I know all about collecting samples… This hamper would be heaven on earth for this single mommy 🙂

    Hello Jo Anne 🙂

I always had a skincare regime that worked for me through out my teenage and early adult years but after having kids at a young age (both of whom are on the Autism Spectrum) I cant afford to splurge on myself anymore at all, let alone on products anywhere near La Mers price tag! As mothers we always strive to put our kids first, so its easy to forget to look after ourselves.

Having La Mer on my skin would make up for all the years without any skin care.

    Fingers Crossed xx

    Love

My skin gets affected when seasons changes, now that it is the winter season it has been dry and dull. It is naturally beautiful and dark and I wish not to use products that may contain bleaching substances and causing damages. Using La Mer has always been a dream and I believe that it can work wonders for my skin.

If I win this hemper I will recommend La Mer to my friends. I live in Cape Town – Tamboerskloof

I would love this product because i have never really found a product which works with my skin and gives me glowing, radiant skin.
Being someone with a million freckles has left me a little insecure when it comes to my skin. I want to be a confident women who is comfortable in her won skin and not have to wear a thousand layers or make up or hide behind my glasses and hair.

    Yours sincerely,

    Hi JoJo!
OMG! This is awesome! I would love to win this for my mom. She’s such a superstar mom, but I hate that she neglects herself while trying to take care and please everyone else. It just seems so unfair to me. She deserves the best of the best. La Mer is definitely luxury and will pick her spirits up encouraging her to spend more time on herself and taking care of herself. La Mer is a brand that we have heard of before and heard great things about it. I love that it is made from natural ingredients, it will be magical on the skin! Hopefully mom will get to experience that amazing feeling on her skin 😀 xx

This is such an amazing giveaway!!! I’ve ALWAYS wanted to try La Mer.

My baby boy, Alexander, is 9 months old and this is what shopping for myself looks like: I walk into a shop intending to buy something fir myself and walk out with baby stuff. E V E R Y T I M E…. Unfortunately, buying skin care products for myself went out the window first as buying nappies, formula and clothing for Alexander is my first priority. Would love to be treated with this prize!!!

Thank you for this awesome competition.

Hi Jo Anne and La Mer Team,

I am a full time working mom of 4 (3 girls and a boy – finally!), you can only imagine what my day is like. I barely have time for anything except for school drops offs, birthday parties and extra murals (and my job). I suffer from oily skin and pigmentation. Nothing has really worked so far and La Mer is way over my budget. It would be a great treat for myself and also to finally use a skin care that actually works.
Thank you for such a great competition 🙂

Oh how i would love to use la Mer…
I’m the proud mommy of two little ones, a 4 year old boy and a 1 & a half year old girl. When i look at my little girl, my biggest dream is that one day she looks at me and thinks.. “wow, you are the most beautiful mommy in the world” and i’m sure for my daughter i would be, Working, running around and going on very little sleep, we as moms need all the help we will need.
The only problem is, that after trying your utmost at giving your kids all that you possibly can, there inst much left in the pot for REALLY AMAMZING skin care. Even if it is just for once, i would love to use La Mer.
Jo-Anne, thank you for your amazing blog, and always making being a working mom, look so good. Always someone to look up to.

Many years ago I was introduced to this revolutionary product by my bestie who was fortunate enough to work at a La Mer counter. Unfortunately I could never afford to buy it, so relied mostly on samples given to me by my friend. I would use them super sparingly and it was great. Sadly my friend moved on from La Mer and with that any chance of me continuing my use. Now that I’ve just turned 40 I need it more than ever but the price tag makes it a little elusive when you have 2 babygirls whose school fees take precedent.

    Hi there,
I have always loved the La Mer brand and found it to be very intriguing especially the “clean” and inviting setup in the beauty section of the stores but sadly, like most moms im sure can relate, its like “going shopping with the intention of getting something for yourself and then coming back with a full boot of goodies for the kids instead” somehow “momming” becomes your 1st priority and everything else, unfortunately including spoiling yourself kinda falls behind😢
