First of May – new season!

Soooo, I’ve realised that a blog is a lot (A LOT) more work than I ever anticipated and that though I love the idea of being a full-time writer or blogger (I dreamt of being the Carrie Bradshaw of motherhood), the reality is a little bit more time-consuming than I’d anticipated.

I love the little Modern Mommy community that has formed over the past three years (can you believe it’s been going on that long already?!) and the interactions on and just generally meeting those of you who come visit here from time to time. I really appreciate all the positive feedback and the ideas you share. Your stories of motherhood, juggling all the things we as women do … it really is lovely to know that we are a sisterhood as moms.

Anyway, I wanted to let you know that I really want this blog to be a regular one (and wanting without work is just a dream, so I WILL make this one happen) and one that has exciting new product information and experiences for moms. This is the month of Motherhood – Mother’s Day is coming on the 14th of May and I am preparing to do some fun giveaways too. FUN giveaways … like maybe tickets to the Justin Bieber concert …

I just wanted to touch base with all of you and let you know that hopefully absence makes the heart grow fonder, so despite the fact that I am not as regular with my posts, your being part of my journey is truly appreciated. Stay tuned as we take the next step and grow Modern Mommy.

Thanks for all your suggestions and comments and please keep them coming. We will be celebrating all of you throughout the months and just want you to know how much we love interacting with you. And note – I use the royal “we” as it’s just me really working on this, but I am looking at maybe getting a team together. Any suggestions?

Kind regards,
Jo-Ann AKA Modern Mommy AKA MOMO JoJo 😉

I think the idea of possibly putting together a little teamis an awesome one. Perhaps you could give stay at home moms, like me, an opportunity. It’s my first time being a SAHM as I’ve just finished work the end of April.

Hi Momma! I love your blog. I understand that you might need some assistance, but personally I love hearing from you, your perspective & experiences. Keeping it real. Not sure how you intend to change it though. Hope you have a fantastic Mother’s Day!

I would love to be part of your team. I am a SAHM and it would be an amazing distraction 😊.

I started a blog a while ago and I also didn’t know it was so much work. I would like to post more frequently but time is a scarce commodity. I love reading the Modern Mommy blog (this is where I found out about the Doona for my now newborn baby) but I’m sure that modern mommies understand the challenges and time constraints a modern mom has.

Hi Momo Jojo! I think put a small team together. It will relieve some of the guilt and stress that comes with not putting up more posts than you would like. I also think Lauren has a good idea. Maybe you can have a guest feature from your readers every now and then jus to get a different perspective. Elize
