In August, I had the pleasure of hosting the in Johannesburg after judging the phenomenal entrants from all walks of life with fellow judges and modern mommies (pictured) Leanne Manas (Media personality), Suzy Brokensha (Fairlady Editor), Adv Thuli Madonsela (Public Protector) and Yegs Ramiah (Santam Director). We were absolutely thrilled to see so many women who had defied convention and started their businesses whilst juggling motherhood. Some people might argue that these women succeeded in spite of the fact that they are mothers, but many felt that they succeeded BECAUSE they are mothers and wanted to do so for their children.
I was so inspired and am confident that the spirit of entrepreneurship is finding it’s fire here in South Africa. The economy of our country needs to grow exponentially to ensure that we leave this country in a better state that the one in which we found it. Either one can sit and complain about the situation or one can actively be part of the change we want to see. I have come across so many people, moms in particular, who are ready to take the plunge and start their own businesses, but who lack some seed funding and perhaps an ear to bounce ideas off. I am a firm believer in the quote that “Opportunity dances with those already on the dance-floor” and would like to help one of my readers who is on the threshold of a great business venture to craft and develop that idea.
So, I would like to invest R10 000 (note INVEST) and my time and contacts into your business. I will share more information soon, but just want you to get your minds ready and develop your thoughts and ideas into business plans. There is so much power in translating an idea into a written plan and I look forward to helping you make your dream a tangible success.
Love and light,
Jo-Ann AKA Modern Mommy

Hello Jo Anne
Congratulations on your beautiful children and family. My name is Mamoratwa Mothwa. I am a 23 UNISA LLB student. I decided to start this impressions business to generate tuition fees.
I would like to make impressions of your babies hands and feet, not only because I see you as one of the best Miss South Africa ever but also because the publicity I will get from your fans would be great for my business.
They grow up so quickly, my hand crafted 3d impressions are the perfect keepsake to make time stand still. I capture their tiny toes , fingers , every wrinkle down to their tiny teeny nails!
Hello Jo Anne

These are then presented in a beautiful shadow box frame, to make it the perfect keepsake, for you and your family to treasure for generations to come.
Frames can be slightly different but not to different (usually colour wise), it depends on our suppliers and the size of the child’s limbs. We do the feet in different colours so they complement the colour of the individual frames.
The babys 3d hands and feet impressions are done through an appointment. I am based in Gauteng and the impressions would be done at any near by place where you and your baby feel comfortable.
It will take between 8 to 10 weeks for the impressions to be completed, if otherwise you will be informed. Picture can be given to me on the day of the impressions or e-mailed to [email protected]
The impression material is not harmful to the baby, the younger the child the better the impressions .
I see how how you always have the best interest at heart for a girl child . If the is anything you would like to ask feel free to e-mail [email protected].
Regards
Mamoratwa
